The volunteers oversee and manage the association, and Barcaldine regional Council donates the building to community. Updating access from a handful of keys managed by community members to the PIN door lock was a significant step in providing more inclusive access to the community. The PIN door lock means you can access the gym 24/7. Since 1999 the gym has undergone various improvements and expansions. Walls were removed to provide more space, additional windows installed and custom artworks added.
